Potato Head Folk @ Keong Siak Road

Potato Head Folk (PHF) hails from Bali, a paradies for travellers. I have not been besotted with taking a holiday slowly but Bali did change that perception a fair bit. Two visits later, I still have not paid this beach gastropub a visit and having it reach my shores is a good idea - saves me a ticket actually hence I was waiting for a good time to visit this since I have heard rave reviews and crowds have been maddening given their no reservations system.

At 6pm, we were considered one of their earlier guests on a weekday no less.

Baby Huey ($20)
Prime 150g beef patty, cheese, lettuce, notorious "T.O.M." sauce, pickles, spiced mayo, demi brioched bun

Presented in a fastfood crisp wrapper manner and it was already a messy sight before I could dig in. T.O.M. sauce was similar to the orange hued gravy present in the Naughty Fries.  Beef was cooked medium and I loved the pink but the adoration stopped when it was nothing more than a regular burger with more hype than substance.

For once, Carl's Junior seemed like a ton more value.

James Brown AKA The Codfather of Soul
Codfish fingers, mushy peas, lettuce, bread and butter pickle tartare sauce, rice bun

One fancy burger with cod with a larger than life name for a burger, the uppitty priced fish burger was truly not much better than a filet-o-fish from McDees. Cod fish or dory, I perhaps cannot appreciate the premium when it ends up fried and breaded.

Naughty Fries
Spiced bearnaise, hot beef chilli, crisp shallots, parmesan, sesame seeds

Last but not least, naughty fries that were purely playing on its name than anything else. Spicy sauce fries if anything for this platter of hand cut fries.

PHF, been that and done that.
